Cooking time: 15 min. Ingredients
Heat broiler. Pat meat into a 7 inch round, about 3/4 inch thick. Lightly oil a 9 inch ovenproof skillet (cast iron works great) and heat over medium heat until hot. Carefully add beef patty to pan, cover, and cook 8 minutes. Uncover, transfer pan to broiler, and cook 4 minutes longer. Spread sauce evenly on top of patty, leaving a 1 inch border all around. Put cheese on top of sauce and sprinkle with oregano and pepper flakes. Broil until cheese is lightly browned and bubbly, 2-3 minutes. To serve, cut into wedges. This recipe serves 4 people. Due to the nature of this recipe, it adjusts the number of servings in multiples of 4 only.
