Cooking time: 5 min. Ingredients
Preheat oven to 450°F. Place muffin halves on cookie sheet. Top each with large scoop of ice cream and place in freezer while preparing meringue. In small bowl with mixer at high speed, beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy. Gradually beat in sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form. Spread meringue over ice cream, sealing to edge of each muffin. Bake 3 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve on plates drizzeled with your favorite fruit sauce immediately. This recipe serves 4 people. Due to the nature of this recipe, it adjusts the number of servings in multiples of 4 only.
